Aluminum hydroxide is an inorganic flame retardant. It is valued for its characteristics of being non-toxic, odorless,
having good dispersibility, high whiteness, and low iron content, and is commonly abbreviated as ATH.
ATH provides a threefold effect: flame retardancy, smoke suppression, and anti-dripping. During combustion, it does
not cause secondary pollution, nor does it release toxic or corrosive gases during pyrolysis. By absorbing heat and
releasing water vapor, it imparts flame-retardant and self-extinguishing properties to polymer materials.
Due to its low polarity, ATH exhibits good compatibility with polymeric materials like polymers. Consequently, its appli
cation scope is very broad, and its usage is increasing year by year.
The application fields of aluminum hydroxide include thermosetting plastics, thermoplastics, synthetic rubber, coat
ings, and building materials, among others. In these fields, ATH not only enhances the flame retardancy of products
but also ensures their safety and environmental friendliness. This provides a critical safeguard for the safe operation
of new energy vehicles and other electronic products.
